Well here is what it has come down to, blogging my journey to a healthier way of life. Not only do I attend meetings and try my best to track what I eat and what and how much exercise I get and don't get but now I have resorted to blogging about it. That must be a sign of the times, not that I think that anyone will read it, I think its just for my benefit.
Here's where the journey begins....a little about my past experiences. I feel like I have been on some kind of diet my entire life....I remember being in grade school and joining one of my relatives in a weight loss experience of eating liver(you had to have liver once a week)buried in green beans with a large glass of water and milk close by to choke it down. Then there was always watching what you eat as a young teen or just not eating with the realization that throwing up or purging would never ever be an option. Then dieting should have became easier when you were on your own, if you would have only made the right choices for yourself. Just to name a few other programs I have tried Medifast, Atkins, Southbeach, Weight Watchers 3 times, Mayo Clinic Deit , I have bought numerous books and exercise equipment and exercise videos and dvds all in desparation to feel like I am normal or pretty. My last ditch effort was to surgically altar my body (gastric bypass) in hopes that I could lose the hundred pounds that surgery seemed to promise. Even though everyone tells you that surgery is just a "tool", you really believe that this is it.
Well it has been three years since my surgery and I never did lose the 100 pounds, I however did lose almost 90 and I have watched 20 pound creep back up. So here I am back with Weight Watchers trying to lose the 20 pounds that found me and maybe gonna add another 10 to 15 to that 20, So ultimately 30-45 pounds. Very doable and less daunting than the 100 plus pounds from 3 years ago. Thats my story and I am sticking to it.
There is so much to write and so little time, just so you know I have a Awesome husband and two wonderful kids that are definately in my corner along with a awesome network of friends that support me and I support them. It seems like at least half of the population is on a Live-it, sounds so much more pleasant than a diet. So let the games begin and the sit-ups commence. Til next time....K-Train (this train is not stopping for defeat.)
